Michael is currently a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust where he is the Labour Ward Lead Obstetrician and also specialises in complex gynaecological laparoscopy and diagnostic oncology. Michael has worked within multiple different trusts in North East London over the last 12 years. He has an avid interest in patient safety, learning from clinical incidents and clinical leadership and is a course director for the Baby Lifeline Learning From Adverse Events in Maternity Course.

Michael undertook a Darzi Fellowship in clinical leadership, obtaining a PGCert (Darzi) with Distinction in 2016-17. During this year Michael worked at NHS Resolution and focused on maternity safety, specifically helping set up the Early Notification Scheme for brain injured babies and authored the report, published in September 2017; Five Years of Cerebral Palsy Claims, which can be found here. More recently, Michael was part of the clinical team involved in the Independent  Maternity Review (Ockenden Review) of Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust.
