Emily Hill

Birth Centre Midwife – Bradford Royal Infirmary

RM BSc (Hons) MA

Emily qualified as a Midwife in 2007 and since then has enjoyed working in a number of settings. Emily has practised in NHS Trusts both in London and Yorkshire.

The majority of this time she has been a clinical midwife working in midwifery led and obstetric led settings, including home birth settings, stand alone birth centres, alongside birth centres and obstetric units. Emily’s past experiences include working as a quality improvement midwife, this role allowed her to audit clinical practise and assist with service improvements. She has also worked in Uganda in a birth house, 50km from an obstetric unit, this low resource setting was an incredible place to work. At times it was very challenging to facilitate safe maternal and infant care. Great learning occurred during these times.

Since 2012 Emily has been working for Bradford NHS Trust where she currently works at the alongside Birth Centre, her role includes being a faculty member for in-house training. Emily is a faculty member for Baby Lifeline’s Childbirth Emergencies in the Community course.
