Dr Emma Ingram

Dr Emma Ingram is a Subspecialty Trainee in Maternal & Fetal Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester and a NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester.

After graduation from the University of Manchester Medical School in 2006, she progressed to specialty training in the Mersey Deanery. Between 2014 and 2017 she took time out of training to concentrate on her research into the application of functional magnetic resonance imaging techniques to identify and stratify pregnancies affected by fetal growth restriction. This was done in collaboration with Tommy’s Baby Charity and the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre, University of Manchester. She attained a PhD from the University of Manchester with a thesis titled ‘The Use of MRI techniques in the identification of placental dysfunction”.

In addition to her training, Emma has worked in specialist fetal growth restriction and hypertension services at St. Mary’s and has co-authored the North West guidelines for the management of early onset growth restriction.
