CTG Masterclass – Deeper Understanding
25th/26th January, 2011 - 7 Bedford Row, London
This new and intensive 2 day course, which is aimed at all midwives, obstetricians and clinical negligence lawyers who are involved in interpreting CTG traces, offers a complete package of CTG education and assessment. The pathophysiology of fetal heart rate changes, the types of hypoxia during labour, technical aspects of CTG and STAN Machines are all covered in detail over the two days.
Both days have interactive sessions and workshops to actively encourage discussion on contentious issues in CTG interpretation and to promote rational fetal monitoring to avoid unnecessary intrapartum interventions.
Obviously, a huge thank you is extended to the course’s expert presenters Edwin Chandraharan, Austin Ugwumadu, Virginia Lowe, Sue Sauter and Leslie Keegan. Their enthusiasm and ongoing support of Baby Lifeline’s work is valued greatly. Our sincere thanks go to 7 Bedford Row for their support in hosting and facilitating the course and to OKB Medical and GE Healthcare for their sponsorship and participation.
Baby Lifeline, with expert clinical and legal input, has delivered first class and ‘cutting edge’ training on evidence based and current practice for over twelve years, and has gained an excellent reputation nationwide for its collaborative work with leading professionals and organisations concerned with maternity care.
Course Feedback:
- What a fantastic day! Presentations were of very high quality, good academic level, but felt accessible. Good use of IT
- Excellent course, incredibly informative and thought provoking. One of the best, if not the best CTG course I've been on
- The application of physiology and pathophysiology to practice case studies have given me a renewed knowledge and understanding
- I though I knew quite a bit as a labour ward midwife, but I have learnt so much
- National training of this high standard would have a huge impact on incidence of hypoxic injury and unnecessary intervention
- Again, an excellent day, I think you should do a traveling road show to educate all maternity units
