Lifeline Training announces this new two-day course which offers a complete
package of CTG education and assessment.
The aim of the course is to cover fetal monitoring from the physiological basis
of cardiac function through to advanced CTG interpretation, and includes
antenatal and intrapartum monitoring.
During the first day, in addition to lectures by leaders in the field of fetal
monitoring, there will be small group work interpreting CTGs.
The second day starts with a brief reminder of the principles of CTG
interpretation, before the bulk of the day is then spent interpreting CTGs and
fetal blood analyses. For the second day, delegates are encouraged to bring
along CTGs they wish to discuss (in confidence).
Delegates can attend individual days, or both together.
The course uniquely includes an assessment of knowledge which can be
used towards mandatory CTG revalidation. Attendance at both days and
participating in the assessment should count towards a complete year’s
requirement for CTG interpretation (to be confirmed).
Disclaimer: Any advice regarding CTG interpretation is personal opinion only,
and cannot be used as expert opinion unless specific written confirmation is
given.
To book please complete the booking form
below and return by
email, fax or post.
Please
would you also consider passing this information onto colleagues. The above
seminar offers an incomparable opportunity to assess and interpret a wide range
of real life obstetric emergencies at individual workstations supervised by
experienced medical trainers.
Who
should attend?
The CTG Masterclass course is aimed at all midwives, obstetricians and clinical negligence lawyers who are involved in interpreting CTG traces. A basic knowledge of CTG interpretation would be beneficial, but not essential. To get the most out of the course, it is recommended that candidates read a simple CTG book, such as Fetal Monitoring in Practice, or similar, and review the relevant NICE Guidance. The first day will review the basic science and interpretation of CTG traces and fetal monitoring in general, whilst the second day is dedicated to CTG interpretation.
