TRAINING DAYS
Funded by the West Midlands SHA this
is an invitation to your maternity unit healthcare professionals to join these
informative days:
Each of the four training days will be attended by 100 maternity services
healthcare professionals from the West Midlands comprising midwives,
obstetricians, anaesthetists and other relevant professionals. Expert
professionals from other regions will be invited to speak and join the forums.
Places have been allocated to each Trust in the West Midlands area and can be
booked on a 'first come first served basis'.

Major Obstetric Haemorrhage – Management Options

Coventry University
Major obstetric haemorrhage remains a significant cause of maternal mortality.
The aims of this conference are to review the various management options
available, to highlight how multidisciplinary teams can work better together and
also offers interactive sessions in smaller groups.
The programme is split into four sessions:
• Initial management and team working
• Anaesthetic and haematology issues
• Non-surgical, surgical and radiological approaches
• Interactive case discussions and workstations

Safer Birth - with input from the Healthcare Commission and Kings Fund

A day that acts as a forum for reviewing current issues facing maternity
services, with discussion on National structures for Safety Guidance for safer
working, Multidisciplinary communication, challenges for Trusts boards, a review
of the Healthcare Commissions findings and the Kings fund report.
